Those eligible for a U Card are able to upload a photo in advance of picking up their card. Instructions are provided below, and you can upload your own photo via the photo upload portal
Those getting a replacement U Card are advised to deactivate your card online and come into the U Card Office rather than uploading a photo.
(Twin Cities U Cards Only) - This guide assumes you have found the Photo Upload information page and are requesting a new or replacement card with no fee being required. Review the guidelines on the photo upload page, then select your campus from the bottom of the page.

Step 1: Login to the uploader
Log into the photo upload portal using your U of M x500 (the part of your email before @umn.edu) and password.
Step 2: Confirm your identity using Duo
Confirm your identity and login using Duo. More information is available on the IT website.
Step 3: Select your photo
Click "Choose File" on the upload portal to open up a file selection dialog box.
Step 4: Find your photo
Find your photo within your computer's file system and highlight it, then "Select" or "Submit" (actual text varies by system).
Step 5: Upload & confirm your photo
Click on "Submit picture" to upload your photo. View your photo and select "I want to use this photo" or "No, I want to use a new photo" to reselect your photo.
Step 6: Disable existing U Card
(Optional) - If you have an existing U Card, a dialog box will pop up, confirming your deactivation.
Step 7: Wait and check your email
